03 / Protected IPFS delivery

Lock the files.
Share the address.

Package your track, cover art, and metadata together, protect that package with a strong password, and then upload only the encrypted ZIP to IPFS. You submit the ZIP’s CID or gateway URL and provide its password in your submission email.

You must register and maintain your own IPFS pinning account. Selfsound does not receive files through this website, and the archive password is not published to IPFS.

Protected

Your music is encrypted before it reaches public IPFS. People may be able to download the ZIP, but they need the password to open its contents.

Complete

One archive keeps the finished audio, album artwork, and structured metadata together so credits do not become separated from the track.

Verifiable

The CID is tied to the encrypted ZIP. If anything inside the package changes and you rebuild it, the resulting CID changes too.

Required delivery method

Build the protected package.

Create a project folder.Name it clearly with your artist and release, such as artist-song-title.
Add the three required items.Include the finished WAV or high-quality MP3, album art as JPG or PNG, and a file named exactly metadata.json. Do not include stems, account keys, or your archive password.
Create a password-protected ZIP.With 7-Zip, choose Archive format: zip, Encryption method: AES-256, and a unique password of at least 12 characters. Windows’ basic “Send to compressed folder” option does not provide this encryption step.
Test the archive.Open the finished ZIP on your computer and confirm that it asks for the password and that every file extracts correctly.
Upload only the encrypted ZIP.Upload the ZIP to your Filebase or Pinata IPFS account, keep it pinned, and copy the resulting CID or public gateway URL.
Submit the link and password.Paste the CID or URL and the exact ZIP password into our form. The website places both into the email prepared for powerhour@selfsound.com.

Submission agreement

Your ownership stays yours. These permissions let Selfsound evaluate, prepare, play, and promote a selected track as part of the programme.

I am at least 18 and I own or control—or am authorized to act for the owner of—all rights needed for this submission, including the sound recording and the underlying music and lyrics. I confirm that every performer, producer, songwriter, publisher, label, collaborator, sample, voice, beat, and other third-party element is cleared for the uses described here, and that the track does not unlawfully infringe anyone’s rights. If selected, I grant Selfsound, its programme partners, and participating radio stations a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to access and technically prepare the track; include and publicly perform or transmit it in the Selfsound AI Power Hour; rebroadcast that programme; and use the track title, artist name, submitted credits, and brief excerpts to promote the programme. This permission lasts while the programme and its promotional materials are distributed, including archived editions. I understand that submission does not guarantee selection or payment; I remain responsible for keeping the encrypted ZIP link available, supplying the correct password, and ensuring the information is accurate. This permission does not transfer my ownership or waive songwriter, publisher, performer, or other royalties that may be payable under applicable law or a station’s licences.
